====== Guide to Replacing a BMS-EX on-site ====== This guide details the necessary steps to replace a BMS-EX on-site while preserving the data and settings from the BMS to be replaced. ===== 1. Minimum Requirements ===== - Logger software version is V9.129 or greater (update if necessary). - Old BMS must be EX series. - Old BMS must be online and visible on the logger. - Old BMS firmware version is 202 or greater. Update if necessary. - Copy the old BMS's serial number. General Info --> BMS Information --> Serial Number //**THE OLD BMS MUST BE ONLINE AND VISIBLE ON THE LOGGER AFTER IT HAS BEEN UPDATED!!! **// ===== 2. Replacement ===== - The old BMS may now be removed from the battery, and the new BMS installed in its place. - Verify the BMS is securely installed and that all connectors are seated correctly. - After switching the new BMS on, it will start up and remain in an error state until the replacement process has been completed via the wizard. The CANBUS 1 interface on the new BMS should show activity (blinking green LEDs). ===== 3. Configuration ===== - The old BMS may now be removed from the battery, and the new BMS installed in its place. - Navigate to **MyPower24 → My Devices → Li-ion Storage EX Series**. - Click on the orange service alert icon :!: . **(A)** - A dialog box indicates that the logger has detected a replacement BMS. Click to continue. **(B)** - A second dialog box will open asking you to type in the serial number of the BMS that was replaced. Once populated, click ''Complete replacement ''. **(C)** - It may take up to a minute for the configuration file to be copied to the new BMS. Once the process is complete, a blue balloon will pop up confirming the operation was successful.
